Endorsements

The Imperial County Democratic Party (ICDP) endorses candidates in local and county races through a public, open process governed by our bylaws. Every eligible candidate gets the same questionnaire and the same fair shot.

When we endorse a candidate, that endorsement also carries the weight of the California Democratic Party. Imperial County is one of only a handful of county Democratic committees in California with that standing.

This year, the ICDP is partnering with Democrats United Imperial Valley, the only chartered Democratic club in Imperial County, to endorse candidates for the 2026 elections. We'll be present at each other's meetings to hear from candidates, jointly host candidate forums, and each organization will hold its own separate endorsement vote.
